INSIDE STORY to Screen at International AIDS Conference on July 25th
Next week, thousands of leading scientists, public health experts and policy makers will gather in Washington, DC for the 19th Annual International AIDS Conference to address the HIV epidemic. The theme of AIDS 2012 is "Turning the Tide Together," and the organizers have put the call out for those seeking to eradicate HIV to define what that means. In the case of DCGEP and Inside Story, the answer is simple:
Turning the tide is…realizing that knowledge is power.
Inside Story approaches the need for education about HIV and AIDS using the power of entertainment. The film introduces viewers to Kalu, an aspiring pro-footballer from Kenya whose dreams of sports glory are derailed by a chance exposure. What follows is a story of ambition, adversity, friendship and love – woven with internal fight happening within Kalu's body as the HIV virus attacks.
For those attending AIDS 2012, on Wednesday, July 25 at 6:30pm we will be screening Inside Story in the Global Village Youth Pavilion at AIDS 2012. We hope you will join us to see the film as we prepare to share it across sub-Saharan Africa and the world as a meaningful tool in our collective fight.
